A Historic Space Transformed

Where History Meets the Future

An immersive journey through architecture, memory, and transformation

Immersive Ceiling Projection Immersive Ceiling Projection

A brand-new highlight: Over 200 sqm of contemplative motion art is projected onto the ceiling of the restored women’s hall. Visitors lie back on mats and take in a space-inspired visual loop set to atmospheric film music — an entirely new way to experience digital art.

Historic Location Reimagined Historic Location Reimagined

Step inside the 97-year-old Lichtenberg public swimming pool: originally opened in 1928 as a magnificent public bath, it housed two large swimming halls with separate pools – a place created for the health and leisure of Berlin's population. Today, this historic building is being transformed into an immersive exhibition space. Not only the content, but also the location itself tells a story that spans almost a century.

International Digital Art in Focus International Digital Art in Focus

With works by over 30 international artists and collectives, Stadtbad RELOADED presents a curated journey through motion design, architecture and sound. Spread throughout the entire building, the frames invite visitors on an immersive journey of discovery – surprising and absolutely unique in Berlin's cultural landscape.

Expansive Light and Sound Installations Expansive Light and Sound Installations

A light installation featuring 63,000 LEDs breathes new life into classics like Tetris and Snake — accompanied by atmospheric chillstep beats and visually captivating animations.

Great location, great exhibition! Suitable for all ages

Julia C.

It was truly a wonderful exhibition. The building itself is incredible, and the curation of the pieces was amazing. I particularly enjoyed how you were invited to explore the space in order to find all the screens, and that some screens were even "hidden" throughout the historical building. It was very fun to look for them all!

About the experience

What can I expect at this event? Stadtbad RELOADED: BEYOND is the expanded version of the successful Stadtbad RELOADED exhibition, which opened in 2024. It combines the original exhibition with the Stadtbad RELOADED: AMBILIGHT light installation and the new immersive installation BEYOND to create a fascinating overall experience. The first extension, Stadtbad RELOADED: AMBILIGHT, transforms the unrestored right-hand swimming hall – once the "men's swimming hall" – into a visual spectacle. An impressive light installation with 63,000 LED lights has been installed here, bathing the room in constantly changing light. The latest extension, BEYOND, is located in the left-hand swimming hall – the former "women's swimming hall". The ceiling of this hall is completely covered with moving digital artworks. Visitors lie on mats on the floor and experience an intense visual journey – an immersive art experience in a unique atmosphere. Whether you are looking for an extraordinary experience, a special date, nostalgic memories of swimming lessons or a fascination for lost places – Stadtbad RELOADED: BEYOND inspires a wide audience. Over 50,000 visitors have already embarked on this adventure.
